[ home ] [ ink ]

Dad

I remember your last breaths
like rough wind coughed over
broken glass

I remember your hand
growing cold within mine
as others held breath
to release in cries
embraces
loss

I remember your last breaths
but not where they buried you

Irrelevant I suppose
you and I buried ourselves
long before the formalities

I still cry quietly

[ home ] [ ink ]
